Oscars Red Carpet Beauty 2021
On this years Oscars red carpet, I was captivated by the makeup of these four beauties: Vanessa Kirby, Margot Robbie, Angela Bassett and my favourite look - Amanda Seyfried.
Vanessa’s look is so dynamic and modern. I find this makeup to be a beautiful balance between edgy, yet simple. The dark lip has real depth and a wonderful contrast to her fair skin and dress. Her brow has a super modern edge that, coupled with her strong contour, adds dynamic shape to her face. I also love the sheer metallic eye that is a subtle nod to traditional glamour.
Margot’s look Is very clean. She has a beautiful glow to her skin and the natural tones used give a very simple, chic feel. This is what I would call effortless beauty.
Angela’s look is dramatic and impactful. The halo of blue around her eyes is playful and striking and works well with the drama of her dress. I love the colour contrast in her over all look and the balance of colour in her makeup.
Amanda’s look is my favourite because it’s so classic and romantic yet has drama. The colours are modern and are used in a way that gives her look a very Smokey, sexy vibe.
Here’s my own red carpet look inspired by Amanda’s. I took the metallic pink/red eye and coupled it with a dewy finish complexion and deep red lip. I personally felt compelled to add a few extra lashes to add to that soft glamour vibe and voilà!
I have to say that using a beautiful cream blush made a huge difference to the finished look. The sheen of the cream texture gave a highlighted, glossy effect to my skin that I am now hooked on. The light reflection is not only super flattering, it also compliments the satin finish lip effect.
